“DRM” refers to technology that attempts to limit access to digital content (like videos) to the viewers who are entitled to access it (for free or for purchase/rental). Types of DRM restrictions include: limiting the number of times a video file can be played concurrently, encrypting it so that it can’t be easily copied, or encoding it into special formats that only work with browsers and devices that offer higher levels of content security.

Vimeo allows creators to disable direct downloads for their videos, and select Vimeo On Demand partners may apply more advanced forms of DRM to their videos.
